Having children can be expensive especially when they start to grow and their appetite grows too! A mum decided to crack down after her children aged 10 and 9 decided to nibble on everything in the fridge and the cupboards. The mother of two who testified on the Mumsnet forum explained the punishment she gave them: “I took the money they got on Christmas to replace the sweets and treats they took. We do a big fill up once a month where I buy all the chocolates/crisps and other goodies for the month.” She also recounts how she and her husband discovered the children’s deception: “I shopped on the first of the month and by the third day I thought the closet looked a bit empty and by the sixth day I realized something was wrong. Cereal bar boxes were empty (but still stacked so at first sight there was no shortage), all the chocolate was gone, and the biscuits had been opened and eaten. Shortly after, my husband and I did a major cleaning of the children’s room and we moved the furniture. We found all the evidence, but also others that we did not expect: they took tons of snacks from the fridge.”
In addition to having taken their money, the children no longer have the right to sweets and cakes, at the end of the meals they eat fruit and that’s it! But the mother begins to blame herself for having taken the money they received at Christmas, she therefore asked the opinion of Internet users.
