A mum has come under fire online after taking her baby to a tanning salon. Internet users have struggled to determine if she is serious or not.

On social networks, a mother has been accused of having abused her son by taking him to a tanning salon. This is Kylen, a 21-year-old mother. She gave birth to her son, Suede, in December 2022. Like many young parents her age, Kylen is very active on Tik Tok.
And the young woman was particularly noticed with a video. In the footage, she is seen holding her infant towards the camera. Below the video, she captioned: “When everyone tells me to stop self-tanning for my baby, but employees who love tanning have families to feed”. A message which therefore implies that she would have subjected her baby UV sessions. Internet users then violently criticized it.

However, this whole thing is really just a joke. Indeed, Kylen told the New York Post that the video was a joke. But Internet users did not understand his humor. Many vehemently expressed their outrage in the comments section of the video. For example, one user wrote: “Disgusting! So awful!”. Another said he didn’t know if it was a joke or not.
Kylen assures the New York Post : “He had jaundice and looked very tanned when he was born. Everyone was commenting on her color, so I decided to make a joke about it. I would never use self-tanner on my baby.” The young mother adds: “I feel like most people got it was a joke. But the few people who didn’t get it were appalled that I can self-tan my baby.”
