In 2022, rapper Booba launched a crusade against Magali Berdah and those he calls “influvoleurs”. He accused them in particular of multiple scams against Internet users. Subsequently, the commercial director of the influencer agency, Shauna Eventshas been victim of cyberbullying. At the beginning of last October, Booba, whose real name is Elie Yaffa, was thus indicted in this case, and placed under judicial supervision, for aggravated online moral harassment. He had accused Magali Berdah of deceptive commercial practices.

This Monday, November 27, thirteen people were tried before the Paris criminal court for having taken part in the massive cyberharassment of which Magali Berdah was a victim. A trial which should last until December 5. At the helm, the influencer agent showed herself “disappointed” since of the thirteen defendants, only half were present in front of the 10th correctional chamber. “I would have liked those who were absent to hear me, to realize what they had done. People need to understand the violence of cyberbullying”, she said.

Nearly 70,000 malicious messages received

Magali Berdah then returned to the hell she experienced between May and September 2022. “His first tweet was on May 17, 2022”, she remembered. Subsequently, she received a series of messages “defamatory against her and her family”. During these 18 months, nearly 70,000 malicious messages would have been sent to him via X (formerly Twitter) or directly by private messages. “It was frontal, it was non-stop and getting worse and worse”, she emphasized. Before continuing: “Booba acts like an engine, the messages [malveillants] go upwards when he talks about me.”

“Every day it was a different accusationshe explained. One day I was a CPF scammer. The next day, a murderer after my sister-in-law was murdered. Sometimes, a bad mother, because my daughter was going clubbing. Then one bad Jew and sometimes the Mossad. I have been accused of all the evils of the earth and it sticks in my head.” Magali Berdah also returned to a video in which “people asked [sa] decapitation and[elle] be burned alive” or a fake pornographic video published by the rapper.

Faced with this surge of hatred, the influencers’ agent explained that she had to move twice since they eventually found his address. “They published my security guard’s scheduleour vehicle was broken, our offices too, three times, and my daughter was hit in the street”, she clarified. A difficult ordeal during which she felt extremely alone.

“Today, we work from home, even my employees don’t feel safe. My daughter, the oldest, was taken out of school. She has no friends, she lives as a recluse at home. We all live recluse”, she indicated. Before continuing: “No one wanted to hear me anymore, I was no longer audible. I lost three quarters of my friendsbecause as soon as they appear with me, they are harassed.”

If she admits to having made mistakes, she assured that “does not give people the right to threaten death”. “No one deserves to be threatened with death in the morning and go to bed at night risking death threats, she pointed out. It’s as if today I had become a monster, he [Booba] has soiled everything that I am. Everything fell apart, I lost everything.” During these months of cyberharassment, she admitted to having had suicidal thoughts. “The only way you can make it stop is to die”, she confided. Through this trial, Magali Berdah wishes to be recognized as a victim and find peace. “I just want us to be able to sleep peacefully. My husband, my children and mei”she added.
