she was reportedly spotted with her new adoptive family

The “psychopathic dwarf” whose story has gone around the world is once again in the spotlight. She was spotted with her new adoptive father.

The story made headlines in 2019, and looks almost straight out of the movie Esther, yet released a few years before the facts. Natalia Grace, a young Ukrainian girl with a rare form of dwarfism, was accused by her adoptive parents of not being 6 years old, as she claimed, but more than twenty years! Worse, the couple in question, Michael and Kristine Barnett, then accuse the girl of having tried to murder them on several occasions. The case became known as “the psychopathic dwarf”, when a negligence lawsuit was filed against the Barnett couple. They had moved in 2012 to Canada, leaving Natalia Grace alone in an apartment. Officially, the girl was only 8 years old.

Today aged 19 according to some, and more than 30 for others, the young girl is once again talking about her. She was spotted with her new adoptive father, Pastor Antwon Mans, selling fireworks in the parking lot of a Walmart in Greencastle, Indiana. The young woman returned to the spotlight with the announcement of a documentary on the affair, planned for the end of the year:The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks” (The curious case of Natalia Grace: Natalia speaks, editor’s note). This documentary aims to give the version of Natalia, now of age, and who strongly contests the accusations of her former adoptive parents. She testifies in the trailer of her misunderstanding : “It’s really frustrating to hear all that has been said by Kristine and Michael, because I already don’t know who I am. And I want to know who I am, what could have happened to me (…) But I hear all these things that never really happened from Kristine and Michael.

Natalia Grac: a case that still raises questions

The case of Natalia Grace has not yet been definitively decided by justice. The case has been mysterious and full of twists and turns since its inception. Evidence abounds one way or the other, without allowing to add an end point to the story. The Barnett parents say they began to doubt the girl’s real age soon after the adoption. This one apparently did not grow, spoke like a teenager and already had her period and pubic hair according to Kristine Barnett. The couple explains that 6 months after the adoption, they found Natalia at the end of their bed, a knife in their hands. She would also have tried to kill her adoptive mother by making her drink household product. These accusations of violence are completely refuted by Natalia, and have not been supported by any evidence before the court.

In 2012, it was, according to the parents, after this event that they decided to officially change the date of birth of the girl, passing it from 2003 to 1989. The mother of the family claims that a bone test came to support their remarks. They then decide to move with their three biological children to Canada, leaving the little girl on her own for a year, when she was theoretically only 8 years old. She would have fed on the preserves left by her adoptive parents. Following a first trial held in 2022, the Barnett couple were found not guilty. Natalia now lives with her new adoptive parents, the Mans, who do not question the words of the young girl. “Natalia is our daughter. We believe God has placed it in our lives. She is a loving daughter and sister.
