Mourning for Sheldon Reynolds: The member of the legendary groups Earth, Wind & Fire and Commodores has died at the age of 63.

Sheldon Reynolds (1959-2023) is dead. The former guitarist and singer of the legendary group Earth, Wind & Fire died at the age of 63. This was confirmed by his ex-bandmate Philip Bailey (72) on Wednesday in an Instagram post. Nothing is currently known about the cause of death.

“Very sad for all of us”

“The news of Sheldon Reynolds’ death is very sad for all of us who knew and worked with him,” writes Bailey in his social media post for a picture of the group Earth, Wind & Fire. Reynolds was “an outstanding addition to the band” and was also “a great songwriter and producer, and a really kind and loving person.”

Member of later line-ups of successful bands

Reynolds played guitar in the legendary funk and soul band Commodores from 1983 after co-founder and singer Lionel Richie (73) and guitarist Thomas McClary (73) left the group. In 1987 the talented musician joined Earth, Wind & Fire. The band had been on hiatus since 1984, but regrouped under founder Maurice White (1941-2016). Reynolds was featured on the albums “Heritage”, “Millennium” and “In the Name of Love” as a guitarist and vocalist. He stayed with the band until 2002.
