Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, a remake of The Night of the Sacrifices announced on modern consoles, but it will go through Kickstarter

It’s hard to know if Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One sold well, but one thing is for sure, Frogware is not going to end the saga with him. After the prequel, he is now preparing a remake of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: Night of the Sacrifices Where Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, 3rd game in the series released in 2006 on PC. It is also not clear whether this is the Project Palianytsia that he presented earlier this year or something else.

It will be called again Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened and will be completely recreated under UnrealEngine 4 and rewritten to be a direct sequel to Chapter Onemaking us find sherlock and Watson faced with the first “mind-boggling horrors” they investigated together. Cinematics, game mechanics and even certain parts of the plot will be revisited, side quests will be added, the English dubbing will be redone and the relationship between the 2 heroes will be deepened through narration.

Frogware will however go through an unexpected step before the end of development: crowdfunding. The project is overall completed, but for ensure that the last stages are done in good conditions, and why not to improve the final experience, Sergey Oganesyan and his teams will ask for help from their community, for a welcome security for the Ukrainian studio. The start date of Kickstarter and the expected amount have not yet been communicated.

“We have most of the content, new features and storyline all mapped out and locked down. But we rewrote the original story a bit and plan to use a whole new set of voices, so now we have to record and also translate all of that from scratch. As the plan is to launch the game on five platforms, we will also need a lot of quality assurance time and resources. And finally, the team has additional features and improvement ideas that we would like to consider adding if we were to have additional resources.

“Through crowdfunding, we can secure all of these needs and also preserve the overall funding for the game, knowing full well that we now have a guaranteed means to complete the game and manage any obstacles we may face as this war evolves. This safety net will allow us to prioritize the needs and safety of our team as we further adapt without derailing all development and funding.

“And finally, we also know that we have a dedicated group of fans who enjoy and support our games and want to help us out as best they can at this time. Through Kickstarter, we can offer these fans the opportunity to buy our next game now and be rightfully credited for their support in the game itself while helping to determine some of the game’s final content and giving them some additional rewards and bonuses. »
