“She’s my heroine”, her touching tribute to her mother who raised her alone

It was on December 8, 2001 in Mulhouse that her world was turned upside down when she won the Miss France competition, succeeding the pretty Élodie Gossuin. A coronation that not only shocked her, but also her mother who was present for the event. At the time, the cameras filmed images of his very emotional mother: “Miss France we watched it on TV with mom, my sisters, it was the beautiful dresses, the sequins, this fantastic set, the trips abroad… I had never left France, I think, so yes it was touching this magic» she says in her work.

If she never missed an opportunity to thank her mother on social networks like when in 2020 she shared old images of her coronation which she captioned with these few words: “Thanks to my sweet and beautiful mother who crossed France at the time to come and support me, this crown is above all yours”, it’s for a very specific reason. Indeed, Sylvie Tellier has always been very grateful to her mother who gave everything to raise her daughters alone and provide for their needs in the best possible way: “Mom found herself all alone at 40 and mom is my hero because she did everything so that we could continue to move forward.» she confides.

Proud to have arrived there without him, she also said a few words to her mother that famous evening: “I say to mom “look what we both did, look what I did thanks to you”“. She also made surprising revelations about the tensions that arose between her and the lady in the hat just after her coronation. Very harsh with the young Sylvie Tellier that she was at the time, the former Miss tries to explain the animosity of Geneviève de Fontenay: “I am small for a Miss France. At the time, Miss France were over 1m80 tall. I’m a little 1.72 meters tall.
