“She’s my super girlfriend”: this unexpected link between Rima Abdul-Malak, the new Minister of Culture, and a famous singer

On another side, new names will integrate the upper echelons of the public service as the new Minister of Culture, Rima Abdul-Malak. Which is not necessarily a surprise since Rima Abdul-Malak is rather well known in her field. She was notably appointed head of the “current music center of the Institut français in 2007”. She also worked as a cultural adviser to Bertrand Delanoë, former mayor of Paris.

Rima Abdul-Malak: well known and close to artists

It is in the columns of Parisian that singer Matthieu Chedid talks about his closeness to the new Minister of Culture. He claims to have been close to the politician for several years. The singer also did not miss share his joy at the appointment by Rima Abdul-Malak. “It’s one of the most big news of the yearit amazes me”he confided.

She’s my super girlfriend. We lived in the same neighborhood. She worked with Céline, the mother of my granddaughter Billie at Clowns Without Borders. We have great memories of concerts together for the benefit of this structure“, continued the artist. “She is of Lebanese descent like my family, like my trumpeter friend Ibrahim Maalouf, it’s the same band. It is such a cultured woman, inspired, brilliant! She has taste, she is refined, human and hyper-committed. She loves music, artists, and she’s very loyal.” he concluded.
