Shiloh Jolie-Pitt becomes Shiloh Jolie: The daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is said to have officially dropped her father’s name.
Now she is apparently no longer a Pitt on paper either: The name change of Shiloh Jolie, 18, daughter of Angelina Jolie, 49, and Brad Pitt, 60, are officially married. This is reported by the portal TMZ, citing new court documents. According to the report, a court has allowed her to get rid of the surname “Pitt” and keep only “Jolie”. Previously, her name was Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt.
Shiloh Jolie has long since renounced Brad Pitt’s name in private
Three days after her 18th birthday in May, Shiloh Jolie applied to the authorities to change her name. In July, she published an ad in the Los Angeles Times to announce that she no longer wanted to be called “Pitt.” On her private Instagram profile, she had already referred to herself as Shi Jolie. The 18-year-old is active as a dancer.
An insider told People magazine in early June that Shiloh’s father Brad Pitt was “informed and upset” about Shiloh’s official request for a name change.
No relationship with his children?
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have six children together: Maddox, 22, Zahara, 19, and Pax, 20, were adopted by the couple. Shiloh and the twins Knox and Vivienne, 16, are their biological children. Jolie and Pitt met and fell in love while filming “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” in 2005. After getting engaged in 2012, the couple married in France in 2014. In September 2016, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce. There are still legal disputes today, for example over a former joint vineyard in the south of France.
Shiloh Jolie is not the only child of the ex-couple who has apparently taken her mother’s side. In November 2023, daughter Zahara introduced herself at the university as “Zahara Marley Jolie”, and daughter Vivienne was listed as “Vivienne Jolie” in the theater program of a Broadway musical in which she had participated in May 2024. Sons Maddox and Pax are also said to have no contact with Brad Pitt.
