“Shocked and saddened”: Celine Dion delivers a poignant message

The results are already terrible, six days after the start of the Russian offensive. What arouse the reaction of many personalities, such as the Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina, Kate Middleton and Prince William, or even Celine Dion.

Discreet for several months, while she recently canceled the dates of her tour in North America, the Quebec singer came out of silence on Instagram to support Ukraine. “To you, brave people of Ukraine, we are with you wholeheartedly“she said, saying to herself “shocked and saddened”but also, “greatly inspired” over there “bravery” Ukrainians. “You have our support and our prayers for peace“, concluded Celine Dion. A moving message from the singer, who has been worrying many for several months, while some report that she is suffering from health problems.

Since the launch of the Russian invasion in Ukraine, many personalities have taken the floor, especially on social networks, to support the Ukrainians. While Milla Jovovich, Ukrainian by birth, who called herself “stunned”denouncing the“endless steamroller of imperialism”, others have decided, like Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, to help the country financially. The couple has thus, on social networks, called on Americans to donate to the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), promising to double each euro collected for Ukrainian refugees.
