Shoes that you shouldn't take with you on vacation

Are you one of those women who always stuff too many items of clothing into their suitcases? We'll tell you which shoe models can safely stay at home.

1. The new shoes

Did you stock up on new shoes for the upcoming summer / winter vacation? Great! Our tip: Nevertheless, the new models should definitely be at home for a few weeks. Because if you carry new shoes on vacation unworn and then want to wear them for hours in the heat or cold, you risk pressure points and blisters. Why? Because the material is still hard and cannot adapt to your foot shape so quickly. Frustration is programmed.

2. The "not quite suitable" shoes

The same applies to the shoes that every woman has in her wardrobe: the pair of sneakers, pumps or sandals that don't really fit, but looks sooo good! Then they want to be taken on vacation because they look perfect with one or the other outfit. But once you have arrived at the holiday resort, you will notice that comfort is the key. Either the shoes are not put on, because if you are honest with yourself, you know very well that they press and pinch, or you are annoyed all the time. Better: don't squeeze into the suitcase and separate yourself from your shoes. Or just present them as decorations in an open shoe cabinet.

3. The high heels

Speaking of shoes that are uncomfortable but beautiful: high heels can also be a case in themselves. We do not advise against taking a pair of elegant heels with you on vacation – on the contrary. Now is the time to get really chic again. But does it really have to be the 11 centimeter stilettos that are so incredibly difficult to position in a suitcase? Rather use shoes that have a few centimeters of heel and are easier to store. They also conjure up endless legs with the right outfit.

4. The sports shoes

Don't get us wrong: Everyone who is very sporty or has booked an active vacation naturally needs their sports shoes. But we know it from our own experience. At home you go jogging twice a year and once for yoga – but no sooner does the hotel have a gym in the holiday destination than the sneakers are packed. After all, it "could be" that you get in the mood for some fitness training. But in 99 percent of the cases this is not the case and the sportswear was carried free of charge. And since there is never enough space for everything in the suitcase, space for other things can be saved.
