Shortcuts: Former Apple employee releases Shortcuts collection
The shortcuts app released with iOS 12 in September 2018 has become an integral part of everyday life for many Apple users. Whether it’s turning on the light in the bathroom while turning down the heat in the bedroom, or texting your family with your estimated time of arrival while you’re in the car, the application can make your life easier. The only problem: The one-time setup of the shortcuts takes some time, depending on the complexity. If you don’t have it or don’t want to pay for it, but still want to automate your life, you should look around at Matthew Cassinelli: The former Apple employee offers one of the largest collections of shortcuts that leaves nothing to be desired. But that was probably not enough for the American, so he keeps developing new shortcuts – and has now reached over 600 shortcuts, as he now announces in his blog.

Collection of different shortcuts
The collection maintained by the former Apple employee includes almost every imaginable area of application. He roughly divides them into the categories “productivity”, which includes calendar, task and communication functions, as well as “lifestyle” with automations related to music, social networks or videos. Other shortcuts are used to control other devices such as Apple’s TV, the iPad or the Apple Watch. Cassinelli divides its collection of shortcuts into three difficulty classes so that everyone can find their way around.
Subscription for full access
However, the whole thing is not free of charge: In order to be able to access the more than 600 shortcuts, you have to take out a subscription. According to the available information, this costs either 15 US dollars (about 13.75 euros) per quarter or 50 US dollars (about 46 euros) per year. If that’s too expensive for you or if you want to get used to the shortcuts app first, you can still take a look at Matthew Cassinelli: the developer also provides a collection of 150 shortcuts that’s free.
