Shots fired at auto show in small US town: one dead and 20 injured

At least 20 people, including several children, were shot at a charity car show in Arkansas. One person died from his injuries, American media reported, referring to the police in the town of Dumas, where the bloody crime took place on Saturday evening (local time). Police were called to the scene at 7:25 p.m.

ABC News quoted Police Chief Keith Finch as saying there had been an arrest. He did not give any details about the victims or the precise background to the crime. Bill Sadler, a police spokesman, confirmed in an email to Reuters that at least 10 people were gunshot wounds.

Around 4,000 people live in Dumas in southeastern Arkansas. The village is about 140 kilometers away from Little Rock. The annual car show, held in the open air, serves according to a media report citing organizers to raise funds for scholarships and school support.
