Even if the deconfinement entered into force on May 11, fragile people remain to be watched. For pregnant women, they are considered to be vulnerable from the third trimester of pregnancy.

During confinement and even afterwards, important safety measures were taken, especially during childbirth, in the maternity unit. To best protect the mother, the baby and the nursing staff, it is strictly forbidden to go back and forth in the work room. Since May 11, the French have been invited to return to work, if the employer cannot keep them on telework. For future dads, it is possible to maintain this scheme, subject to conditions.

According to a decree issued on May 5, pregnant women are considered to be vulnerable from the "third trimester of pregnancy". Clearly, if your partner is at the beginning of her pregnancy and she is not vulnerable to the Covid-19 or carries a pathology, her doctor or the Health Insurance will not be able to provide her with an isolation certificate. Without this document which justifies that you live with a vulnerable person, you can neither be excused from returning to work nor benefit from partial unemployment benefits.

Distance work to be preferred

If you are not granted this certificate, you can ask your employer to maintain telework, if your profession allows it. As a reminder, as announced by the Prime Minister, Édouard Philippe last Thursday, telework is to be given priority. If your woman is in her third trimester of pregnancy, the government specifies on its site: “The High Council for Public Health recommends, however, to apply to pregnant women, from the third trimester of pregnancy, the preventive measures applicable to frail people (for example: restriction or even prohibition of visits, contraindication as to use public transport, limiting contact with children under the age of 10) ”.
