With gas on the rise from November and a planned increase in electricity in the depths of winter, the budget of French households is threatened by their energy bills. To limit these effects, the consumer defense association UFC-Que Choisir offers a group purchasing offer. Please note, not everyone will be able to benefit from this contract valid for two years.
With a benchmark gas price rising for November and an increase in the regulated electricity rate of at least 10% next February, households may be destabilized. To support them, the consumer defense association UFC-Que Choisir is launching this Thursday, and until November 15, a group electricity purchasing operation. Objective of the maneuver, to guarantee affordable and stable prices.
How does it work?
Group purchases allow registrants to take advantage of a locked-in price offer for 24 months. Fixed offers – which can last 12, 24, 36 or even 48 months – are being offered again by energy suppliers after having completely disappeared from the market during the crisis. These particular contracts offer greater security and avoid price surprises in the heart of winter.
This commitment is only binding on the supplier since the customer can, for his part, terminate his contract free of charge and immediately if he finds something better elsewhere.
Who will be able to take advantage of this offer?
The new offer is limited to the first 120,000 subscribers who must register by November 15.
How much can consumers save?
The offer proposed by UFC-Que Choisir costs 12 euros of membership then invoices the kilowatt hour excluding VAT 12.1% less than the regulated rate, i.e. a discount of approximately 10% on the final invoice. The chosen supplier is Octopus Energy, heir to the Plm company, with its cheaper overall energy offer.
