Show in Laakirchen – small animals made it big: the most beautiful “models”

Poultry, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigeons and birds – small animals bred by the Gmunden breeding club could be admired in Laakirchen at the weekend. The “most beautiful” of them received prizes. The “crown” has pictures of the animal exhibition.

“As a small animal breeder, you have to have a bird.” By this, Alexander Hubmer, chairman of the Gmunden breeders’ association, does not mean the feathered animal, but the figurative meaning. Because: “It’s a lot of work and effort. I can’t just go on for a week, you have to be there for the animals every day. That’s a lot of responsibility.” Five species of animals on display. Hubmer and his club members put the specimens they bred on display in Laakirchen at the weekend: poultry, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigeons and birds were on display. The most beautiful animals – those that came closest to the standards for the respective breed – were awarded prizes. According to Hubmer, around 750 visitors were guests in Laakirchen at the weekend. Other breeders’ associations in Upper Austria also regularly present their small animals at exhibitions.
