Martin Fuchs and Pius Schwizer qualify for the individual final. As a team, Switzerland disappointed in the Sweden triumph.

The Swiss show jumpers have to deal with a disappointment. They only finish the team competition at the World Championships in Herning, Denmark, in 8th place. Michel Sorg’s team not only missed out on the medals, they also didn’t get an Olympic ticket for the 2024 Games in Paris at the first opportunity.

Before the decision, Switzerland was in 7th place, but was just 3 penalty points behind the Bronze position. But in the decision, only Martin Fuchs on Leone Jei managed a flawless ride. He classified himself on the 4th place and can compete in the individual final. The same applies to Pius Schwizer: After his flawless performance the day before, he had a fall in the middle element in the saddle of Vancouver. With rank 25, he just made it into the individual final. You can follow this live on Sunday from 2 p.m. on SRF info and in the SRF Sport App.

Sweden untouchable

Because Edouard Schmitz and Steve Guerdat each received 8 penalty points, the Swiss medal dream came to an abrupt end – and for the duo, who finished 36th and 40th, the World Championships in Denmark as well. The victory in the team competition was secured by the Olympic champion Sweden. Silver went to the Netherlands, bronze to the British.
