Showeb 2022: All the series to come on Canal+, OCS, Disney+, Warner TV, SyFy and 13eRue

Many announcements on upcoming series were made as part of the Showeb Series organized by Le Film français, this Tuesday, February 15 in Paris, where Canal+, OCS, Disney+, Warner TV, SyFy and 13eRue came to unveil their new releases soon to be available. .

On Canal+/Canal+Series/MyCanal

The Canal+ Group will offer on its channels (and on MyCanal) many eagerly awaited sequels and new series. As for Original Creations, subscribers will soon have an appointment with season 2 of Ovni(s), Neuf Guys by Emma de Caunes (in March), season 3 of War of the Worlds (in May), and season 2 of La Flamme entitled Le Flambeau: Raiders of Chupacabra (May), still with Jonathan Cohen and this time Jérôme Commandeur as the presenter. Laughter guaranteed…

In April, the thriller with Céline Sallette, Infiniti, which imagines the ISS losing contact with the Earth while the corpse of an astronaut is found on the roof of a building in Kazakhstan, promises to make people shiver. Canal will also offer Marie-Antoinette in the second half of 2022, with actress Emilia Schüle (Berlin 56 and Berlin 59), a series that promises to be sumptuous (the first images were broadcast exclusively during Showeb), and whose filming has just ended for a “back-to-school” broadcast.

During this “back to school” will also be launched the western Django directed by Francesca Comencini (Gomorra), with the cast Matthias Schoenaerts and Noomi Rapace. Still on the side of Original Creations, Canal+ announces The night where Laurier Gaudreault woke up, the first TV series by Xavier Dolan (“for the next school year”), the start of filming for BRI with Emmanuelle Devos, as well as the sequel to Paris Police 1900.

On the acquisitions side, the line-up is also impressive. After “Dexter New Blood”, which allowed MyCanal to register its absolute record with more than 35 million orders, the platform will offer 60 series this year including YellowJackets (March 3), jewel of a horrific series with Juliette Lewis and Christina Ricci in the cast, Super Pumped: The battle for Uber, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Kyle Chandler (in the spring), the thriller Landscapers with Olivia Colman, The Tower, based on the book Post Mortem by Kate London, The Responder , with Martin Freeman as a neighborhood cop in Liverpool, or Don’t leave me, a Nordic thriller by the authors of Gomorra to be discovered “very soon”.

Also expected are 1985, the new creation from StudioCanal inspired by the terrible news item called Mad Killers of Brabant, or even Threesome, a Swedish series about a couple who will test their solidity after having experienced love in threes.

Before that, subscribers will discover the radical Kamikaze on March 16.

The MyCanal streaming platform, which offers more than 100 series and where 50 million hours of programs are consumed each month, will of course not stop there in terms of news, since it aggregates in particular the content of OCS and from Warner, whose very attractive upcoming releases you will discover later in this article.

About OCS

The platform has, as usual, stocked up on exceptional international series. From February 21, subscribers will be able to discover part 2 of season 11 of The Walking Dead. “Soon” will also be released season 3 of Atlanta, and Winning time (March 7), an HBO series with John C. Reilly, Sally Field and Adrien Brody.

Also not to be missed are The Baby, a series, signed by the producer of Sex Education, about a hardened bachelor who becomes pregnant with a child with evil powers and, “soon to be broadcast”, The Time Traveler’s Wife with Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones), about a man who travels through time, and whose showrunner is none other than a great regular on this theme since it is Steven Moffat (Doctor Who).

OCS also announces the arrivals of The White House Plumbers, a series starring Justin Theroux and Woody Harrelson in the cast and the Veep team at the controls, which will return to the Watergate scandal by adopting the point of view of the two secret agents behind the fake burglary. . Another long-awaited piece, We Own this City, by David Simon (The Wire), back in Baltimore for a series between crime fiction and journalistic investigation.

Olivier Assayas will also offer a serial version of Irma Vep, with Alicia Vikander, Nora Hamzawi, Vincent Macaigne or even Jeanne Balibar in the cast.

Season 2 of Devils will also be part of the program, as will the ultra-awaited House of The dragon. The Game of Thrones spin-off will arrive “soon”. The event will, it is already certain, make hardcore series lovers wake up very early since the series will be broadcast in simulcast, that is to say live from the United States at 3:00 am …

Suffice to say that OCS reserves the very heavy side foreign series, but the original creations (labeled Signature or Originals) should also arouse curiosity, starting with Rictus. In this comedy, a 9×26′ dystopia, the creators imagine a world where laughter is forbidden. Fred Testot plays an agent responsible for monitoring laughter but who realizes that he is making his trainee laugh in spite of himself. He is spotted by a group of rebels to fight against the regime…

OCS will also soon offer Sentinelles, with Pauline Parigot, and Toutouyoutou, humorously described as a mix of “aerobics, aeronautics and espionage”.

On Warner TV

Raised by Wolves season 2 (April 25), Gossip Girl sequel, DC Comics Stargirl season 2, The Flight Attendant season 2 starring Kaley Cuoco (and Sharon Stone as the mother of the air hostess), the sequel to the medical series The Resident, season 4 of The Miracle Workers with Daniel Radcliffe and Steve Buscemi, and the final season of The Orville, will be broadcast.

Warner TV has also announced the shooting of its first original French creation. This is Visitors, by and with Simon Astier (Hero Corp), a comedy about the arrival on Earth of extraterrestrial entities also starring Arnaud Tsamère, Tiphaine Daviot, Vincent Desagnat…

On the channels of the NBC Universal group (13eRue and SyFy)

Are announced on 13eRue: The wall, My life is murder, with Lucy Flawless of Xena the warrior, Magnum PI season 2 (in the 1st semester), season 4 of Coroner, season 2 of New York: Organized crime (April 4 ).

Also scheduled soon are the psychological thriller Close to me (in March), Wolfe, a procedural with a medical examiner overwhelmed by his personal life, White Sand (February 27), a thriller under the sun of a Danish seaside resort where two cops who don’t get along have to pretend to be married for the purposes of an investigation.

After Trauma in 2019, and I killed my husband last November, 13eRue will broadcast a new French creation in the spring, Marion, a 6×45 minute adapted from the novels by Daniel Thierry. The series will follow the investigations of a commissioner of the railway brigade played by a convincing Louise Monod (a promising program according to the first images broadcast exclusively during the Showeb).

Another original French creation on the rails, Cuisine Interne, “a French Breaking Bad” as the channel describes it, which will dive during 6 episodes of 45 minutes into the world of Parisian haute cuisine, alongside a ambitious young chef forced to start from scratch by taking the reins of a bistro, where she will find herself confronted with mafia.

On SyFy, series fans will have an appointment with the heroic fantasy series The Outpost; Wellington Paranormal, a slapstick comedy; A discovery of witches “sort of Downton Abbey meets True Blood”, or even season 2 of the comedy Resident Alien, in which Alan Tudyc (Rogue One) plays a crazy alien.

In novelties, SyFy will offer Surreal Estate, in which real estate agents must sell haunted houses, Day of the day, a popcorn tribute to George Romero’s films but also, “in the spring”, the reboot of the 4400 series by the CW channel. .

On Disney+

The American platform presented just a few of its many upcoming novelties. While it continues to broadcast a new episode of the Pam & Tommy series every Wednesday, it will soon be offering three French creations: the family Week-End Family (February 25) with Eric Judor; Parallèles a fantastic 6×40-minute series with teenagers projected into different dimensions to discover from March 23; and Oussekine. A “poignant” series which returns, 35 years later, to the affair which marked the 1980s in France, thereby demonstrating that Disney, whose Star universe is aimed especially at adults, “is now seizing of all subjects”.

Disney+ also took advantage of Showeb to highlight the Marvel Moon Knight series with Oscar Isaac, which it will put online from March 30.
