Celine Dion is determined to return to the stage. She has now shared encouraging words on Instagram.

Celine Dion (55) shared words of encouragement on Instagram and thanked her fans for their support. She shared a picture of herself with her three sons on an international day of action to raise awareness of Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS). The Grammy award winner has been battling the rare neurological disease for some time, which can cause muscle hardening and often cramps.

Dion captioned the image: “As many of you know, I was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS) in the fall of 2022.” Trying to overcome this autoimmune disease has been “one of the most difficult experiences of my life, but I am determined to get back on stage one day and live as normal a life as possible,” the singer added. “I am deeply grateful for the love and support of my children, my family, my team and all of you!”

Dion concluded the post by saying, “I want to extend my support to all those around the world affected by SPS. I want you to know that you can do it! We can do it!”

Performance at the Grammys

In December 2022, the singer announced on social media that she had been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, which resulted in her having to cancel her planned tour. Céline Dion’s sister Claudette Dion (75) died in December 2023 in an interview with the Canadian TV channel “7 Jours” explains: “She works hard, but she has no control over her muscles.” She added: “This breaks my heart because she was always so disciplined.”

At the 2024 Grammy Awards in February, Céline Dion made a surprise appearance to present the award for Album of the Year, which went to Taylor Swift (34). “When I say I’m happy to be here, I really mean it from the bottom of my heart,” she told the audience. Earlier this year, Dion also announced that a documentary film called “I Am: Celine Dion” would be released in which she discussed her health issues and her music career.
