Marlène Schiappa also notes that "many grandparents are still active" and recommends creating a "sick parent leave ", as there is sick child leave today. The active person could take a few days to care for an elderly parent. The Secretary of State is also considering the creation of a "young grandparent leave" to visit the newborn. Finally, she would like these leaves to be open also to blended families.
