Among all the hairstyle trends, a bob appears regularly – after the long bob, micro bob and shattered bob, there is now a new update that puts finer hair in the limelight: the side swept bob – and we love it because it is for provides an extra volume boost!

What makes the side swept bob?

Basically, the haircut is not that important with this bob – it should just be a bob: Whether up to the shoulder or just up to the chin is up to you. What ultimately defines the Side Swept Bob is the way it is worn: with a deep side parting and therefore asymmetrical!

The English "side swept" can be translated into German as "put aside / deleted" and thus captures the whole trick of the style! The asymmetry makes the side swept bob so extravagant, somehow a little rebellious and yet very feminine. And the best news at the end: Thanks to Side Swept, we put an extra dose of volume into our hair, which means that the bob can also be worn with thinner hair.

Who Can Wear the Side Swept Bob?

  • Hair structure: No matter what hair structure you have – with thin, wavy or curly hair – the style is extremely flexible and adaptable. You can have finer hair graded at the hairdresser, which provides more volume. Wavy hair, on the other hand, has fewer steps.
  • Hair length: Everything between chin height and above the shoulders is ideal for the side swept bob. However, if you have very heavy hair, you shouldn't let the bob get too long (better: at chin level or just below), otherwise the volume of the hair will hang out a bit.
  • Face shape: The Side Swept Bob comes into its own particularly well with an oval or heart-shaped face. Women with heart-shaped face shapes can use it to make their foreheads look smaller.

How to style the side swept bob
