Siemens Energy: EU approves joint venture in Uzbekistan

(CercleFinance.com) – The European Commission has approved the creation of a joint venture by EDF, the German company SEKG (Siemens Energy Global GmbH & Co. KG), the Qatari company Nebras Power QPSC and the Dutch company QuWatt BV

The joint venture aims to design, develop and operate a gas-fired power plant in Uzbekistan.

SEKG provides services in electricity transmission, thermal power plants, industrial applications in the oil and gas industry, and renewable energies.

Nebras is active in the energy and water sectors.

QuWatt is a holding company active primarily in Uzbekistan.

The Commission concluded that the proposed concentration would not raise competition concerns given the lack of impact of the operation in the European Economic Area.
