(CercleFinance.com) – Equinor and its partner Polenergia announce that they have selected Siemens Gamesa as the preferred generator supplier for Bałtyk II and III in Poland, two offshore wind farms under development that will have a total installed capacity of 1,440 MW.
‘By selecting our turbine supplier, we are taking another step. This will allow us to have the best technologies on the Polish market and support the development of the offshore wind industry,” explains Michał Kołodziejczyk, country manager of Equinor in Poland.
As part of the announced agreement, Siemens Gamesa will deliver its SG 14-236 DD offshore wind turbine with an output of 14 MW and up to 15 MW with Power Boost.
The final investment decision for both projects is expected in 2024 and remains subject to obtaining the necessary authorizations. The first power supply to the network is expected by 2027.
