(CercleFinance.com) – Siemens Smart Infrastructure announces that it has signed a six-year framework agreement with Norgesnett to supply equipment without SF6 gas – such as the 8DJH 24 – Blue GIS – as well as compact substations.
Norgesnett, a grid operator in Norway, is adopting these technologies to promote sustainable electricity distribution.
The 8DJH 24 – Blue GIS switchgear uses Clean Air, a fluorine- and PFAS-free natural gas with near-zero global warming potential, for insulation and Siemens vacuum interrupter technology, reducing the footprint carbon.
This agreement will allow Norgesnett to become the first in Norway to use only SF6-free switchgear, saving around 1,200 tonnes of CO2 over the lifespan of the products.
