Siemens: with Shell to accelerate the energy transition

(CercleFinance.com) – Siemens Smart Infrastructure and Shell Global Solutions International have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on the development of low-carbon, high-efficiency energy solutions that support the energy transition.

The agreement will cover projects to produce green hydrogen for industrial applications at Shell and its customers, as well as to strengthen collaboration in the fields of biofuels and circular chemistry.

While Siemens will work with Shell to accelerate the transition to zero-rate operations, Shell will provide Siemens, and its subsidiaries, with low-carbon products, including the supply of biofuels.

“Partnerships are key to leading this effort and ensuring the transition to sustainable energy supplies,” said Stephan May, general manager of electrification and automation at Siemens Smart Infrastructure.

“Siemens’ expertise in electrification and automation, coupled with Shell’s engineering and project delivery capability will prove a powerful combination,” said Graham Henley, vice president Engineering & Project Capability at Shell.
