Sifu: The game of Sloclap will also be adapted into a film by the screenwriter of John Wick

Nothing stops Hollywood anymore when it comes to drawing film ideas from the world of video games. There are countless adaptation projects that are currently underway, but some are more surprising than others. This weekend, for example, the Deadline site told us that Sifu was also going to be entitled to its adaptation on the big screen, to everyone’s surprise. And since we are talking about brushes and nudges, the screenwriter of John Wick is never far away.

Another story of revenge

The Sloclap studio will therefore surround itself with Story Kitchen and Derek Kolstad to produce a film Sifu in live action. The one to whom we owe the writing of the films John Wick with the inimitable Keanu Reeves should therefore not go too far out of his comfort zone, if only the twist that makes the character age in Sifu promises to bring some originality to the project.

But before that, Kolstad will have many other adaptations on which he will have to work, since he is also committed to the series. Splinter Cell which is to arrive on Netflix, as well as the film Streets of Rage which moves slowly. And that’s not to mention the many other projects that also occupy the mind of the gentleman, such as the sequel to the film nobody. In short, he is a busy man who plans to bring the French game to life on the big screen, which means that you have plenty of time to discover the game (and try to finish it) by then.
