Signs against homophobia: UEFA bans rainbow station in Munich

Signs against homophobia
UEFA bans rainbow stadium in Munich – and contradicts itself

The football stadium in Munich has already shone brightly in the past – but this should now be prevented at the current European championship.

Before the game against Hungary, the Munich stadium should shine brightly in rainbow colors – and thus set an example against homophobia. But UEFA is now stopping this plan.

With the rainbow-colored stadium before the Germany game against Hungary, Munich wanted to set “a sign in terms of cosmopolitanism and tolerance” as well as “a widely visible signal for our common understanding of values”. Because a law hostile to LGBTQ should stipulate that children and young people in schools are no longer allowed to learn about homosexuality.

UEFA intervenes the day before the game

The European Football Union (UEFA) has now rejected the rainbow application for the Munich stadium – and is causing displeasure. Mainly because an old tweet shows how inconsistent the association is with this decision. You can find out in the video what it says and how people react to it.
