Silent Hill 2: an Origin Story on Pyramid Head? The fans are angry

One of the greatest horror games ever created and even the best in the video game saga, “Silent Hill 2” is the subject of a remake currently in development. The Gamer site has just made a discovery about this game that has fans excited…

Small flashback sequence. A little over a year ago, in October 2022, publisher Konami organized an online event exclusively devoted to the future of the fabulous horror license Silent Hill. Prominent among the announcements was that of a remake of Silent Hill 2; probably one of the greatest horror games ever created and even the best in the video game saga.

Created by Masashi Tsuboyama and written by Hiroyuki Owaku, the game was first released on Playstation 2 in 2001. Developed by the Bloober Team studio, to whom we owe the psychological horror game The Medium released in early 2022, this Silent Hill 2 Remake will be released on PC and PS5, and will be exclusive to the Sony console for one year.

The Silent Hill 2 remake reconnects with protagonist James Sunderland as he searches for clues in the eponymous town, after receiving a mysterious letter written by his wife Mary… who has died for several years.

One of the new features announced – beyond its complete facade renovation – was the adoption of an over-the-shoulder camera view, in the style of Resident Evil, which should change the way of understand the clashes in the game.

Here is the trailer for this announced remake..

It seems that there is another addition, and a big one. By going to the game pre-order page on the US site of the Best Buy store chain, The Gamer website points to what appears to be an Origin Story of the iconic character Pyramid Head, which it would be possible to embody. Obviously the fans are rather upset by this announcement, if it is confirmed. Which we can understand. Unless it was a very clumsy error in the choice of words on the Best Buy site?

Created by designer Masahiro Ito and appearing in Silent Hill 2, this giant figure, half humanoid and half bestial, endowed with superhuman strength, in fact embodied the guilt of the main character, James Sunderland, whose psyche and torments were distorted. on the side of Jacob’s ladder. Although this interpretation is still the subject of debate.
