What matters most to women over 50 in a relationship

The woman of the 50+ generation has very precise ideas about what she wants from a relationship.
Needs change with age – if we compare our childhood selves to our teenage and adult selves, this is certainly true on many counts. But does this also apply to relationships? What do women over 50 want from their partners?
It’s clear that priorities are shifting: What was “exciting” and “new” for many of us in our early 20s is only exhausting as we get older (just think of “bad boys” and their toxic behavior). Various dating platforms took a look at what women really want in a relationship – maybe one or the other answer will surprise you.
Honesty is high on the list for women of all ages
According to the Zoosk dating platform, it looked at over two million profiles and more than 230 million messages to find out what women and men are looking for in their respective partners and to what extent their demands and ideals changed in the 30s, 40s and 50s change. In the case of the men examined, the focus has shifted more towards love and romance over the decades – and what about the women?
Regardless of age, all ages want their partner to be honest. The fact that honesty is only good for a relationship is certainly not surprising for most people. studies not only show the relationship, your own health is also happy about an honest skin. But while women of different ages agree on this trait, there are big differences in the demands that come later.
Women of the 50+ generation are looking for fun, humor and friendliness in their partner. According to the study results, both women over 40 and over 50 want a “gentleman”, i.e. someone who treats them with consideration and respect.
Women of the 50+ generation know who they are – and who they want by their side
Contrary to the narratives of Hollywood productions like “And Just Like That”, in which women over 50 apparently no longer have sex, the act of love still plays a large role for women of that generation in real life, like a Poll by AARP found out. According to this, half of the singles surveyed between the ages of 40 and 69 still regularly engage in sexual activities such as kissing (54 percent), sex (37 percent) and masturbation (39 percent).
Women over 50 are “at peace with themselves and their bodies, they know what they like and are not afraid to ask for it,” says the single platform “Silver Singles”. They are independent, have built their own life, with their own interests, hobbies, friends, a career – “and they don’t want to replace these things with a partner. Rather, this person should compliment their wonderful life”, it says on the platform.
In short: single women over 50 know exactly what and who they want. They know themselves and their needs and know how to take responsibility for them. But at the end of the day, they’re looking for the kind of person in their lives that we all want: Honest, loyal, funny, and considerate.
