Simon Cowell: Back home after a broken back and surgery

Things are looking up for Simon Cowell: According to media reports, he was able to leave the clinic after his broken back and the serious operation.

The music producer Simon Cowell (60) was discharged from the hospital a week after his severe back fracture. The "People" magazine reports, citing a friend of the inventor of the talent shows "America's Got Talent" and "The X-Factor". Cowell is "very happy" with his family at his home in Malibu, California, and is recovering from the operation. After falling on an e-bike, he had to undergo a five-hour procedure, and according to media reports, he only just escaped paraplegia.

Several metal plates were implanted into him, but two days after the operation he was able to take his first steps again. The healing was "progressing well" and the doctors were very pleased with the development of Cowell. For the current season of "America's Got Talent" Cowell is currently represented by singer Kelly Clarkson (38, "Meaning of Life"). It is not yet known when he will be able to get back on.
