The last episode of “Comedystreet” with Simon Gosejohann aired in 2013. Now the prank format is being continued on the streaming platform Joyn.

Simon Gosejohann (48) made his breakthrough as a comedian in 2002 with the show “Comedystreet”. He even won the German Comedy Prize for the format, in which he plays pranks on passers-by on the street with a hidden camera. Five regular seasons with a total of 39 episodes were broadcast on ProSieben by 2009. This was followed by two so-called “Comedystreet XXL” seasons by 2013. The show is now being revived by the in-house streaming platform Joyn. In the summer, 20 new episodes will be produced with Gosejohann and two other comedians, whose names have not yet been mentioned.

“Anarchic, quite childish, with a good portion of embarrassment and for this very reason so funny and timeless,” Joyn program director Thomas Münzer describes “Comedystreet” in a press release. He has not had such a format on his platform before – which is why “the mixture of Simon Gosejohann with ‘Comedystreet’ fits perfectly.” […] excellent to us.”

Filming is already underway

In recent weeks, Simon Gosejohann and his team have been spotted repeatedly on the streets of German cities. Various local newspapers reported on filming in Recklinghausen, Bochum, Haltern and Moers. The exact broadcast date of the new “Comedystreet” edition is not yet known.
