Director Simon Verhoeven is still struggling with the consequences of his corona infection. He could have been infected while traveling.

Director Simon Verhoeven (48, "Welcome to the Hartmanns") announced a few days ago on Instagram that he had survived a corona infection. Now he tells in an interview with "RTL" that four weeks after the infection he is still feeling the consequences of the disease.

As in his Instagram post, the director admits in the interview that he underestimated the virus. "Then there is a great deal of uncertainty that you don't have with normal flu. You constantly check your own breathing and worry that it could get worse," he explains. He still sometimes suffers from symptoms of the disease: "Even now, a month later, I am slower with everything. Language, thinking. Everything does not work as 100 percent as before. I can only say that I underestimated the whole thing a bit . I thought it didn't hit me. "

Verhoeven thinks he caught the infection on a train journey. After that, he was bedridden for over ten days – he suffered from aching limbs, headaches and a slight fever. The actor wishes "everyone who is currently suffering from the virus lots of strength and good thoughts. And I can only recommend everyone else to remain careful".
