Film director Simon Verhoeven looks back on his corona illness and openly admits: "I underestimated the thing."

The Munich director, screenwriter, film producer, actor and film composer Simon Verhoeven (48, "Welcome to the Hartmanns") suffered from Corona. "After 3 weeks of Corona exhaustion, I am extremely happy and grateful that things are slowly improving," he explains in an Instagram post. "I admit, I underestimated the thing. Stay healthy, people! Hang in there. I wish everyone who is currently suffering from it a lot of strength and good thoughts …" he continues.

Simon Verhoeven made a name for himself with the comedy "Männerherzen" (2009), for which he was awarded the Bavarian Film Prize for the best screenplay. The son of actress Senta Berger (79) and director Michael Verhoeven (82) ensured the big surprise success with the social comedy "Willkommen bei den Hartmanns" (2016). For this he received more than ten prestigious awards, including: German Film Prize, Peace Prize of German Film, German Comedy Prize, GQ "Men of the Year" Award, Bambi and two Bavarian Film Awards.
