Simone Mecky-Ballack and her husband Andreas Mecky are separating after four years of marriage. She confirmed this in a statement.
After four years of marriage, Simone Mecky-Ballack (47) and her husband Andreas Mecky (50) have officially separated. That reported first the magazine “Bunte” on Wednesday (July 19). Accordingly, the magazine learned that the couple’s marriage was over. The two married in May 2019.
“I’m happily single now”
The “Bild” newspaper Simone Mecky-Ballack has now personally confirmed the news. In a statement, she told the newspaper: “Yes, that’s right, we’re getting a divorce.” She is currently on vacation on Lake Garda. About her new relationship status, she continued: “Otherwise everything is fine with me, I’m happily single now and treat myself to a spontaneous single vacation.”
Mecky-Ballack had previously with Instagram photos from Lake Garda caused speculation about a marriage. There she was on vacation with three friends, reported the “image”. However, Andreas Mecky was not to be found on the vacation snapshots.
Before her marriage to Andreas Mecky, Simone Mecky-Ballack was married to soccer star Michael Ballack (46) from 2008 to 2012. With him she had three sons. A heavy blow of fate shook the family in August 2021: Son Emilio died at the age of only 18 in a quad accident in Portugal. According to friends of the couple, this stroke of fate put a lot of strain on the marriage with Andreas Mecky and led to the breaking point.
