Simone Thomalla can also be seen as village helper Katja Baumann on ZDF in 2021. The "Spring" series will continue at the beginning of the year.

Since June 2011 Simone Thomalla (55) has been playing the lead role Katja Baumann in the ZDF film series "Spring". The production will celebrate its tenth anniversary in 2021 – with five more films.

On Sunday, January 31, 2021 (8:15 p.m.), ZDF will show "Spring – Flying with Umbrellas", in which Katja takes care of an insecure girl who seems to have only nonsense on her mind. This is followed by the films "Butterfly Fog" (February 7th), "Big Little Lies" (February 14th) and "I see something that you don't see" (February 21st). In addition, the station has announced a Christmas special entitled "Christmas greetings from heaven" for the end of 2021.

Difficult filming under corona conditions

"It's unbelievable how quickly all those years have passed with a total of 32 films," Thomalla looks back in a statement. The audience is the yardstick for the success of Katja Baumann and the series. The coronavirus had a major impact on the shooting of "Spring". "That's why the work in 2020 was really special, and I spent almost half a year in voluntary quarantine, except for the meetings on set with colleagues and team," says Thomalla. But unlike many people, she was allowed to work. "That makes me humble."
