Actress Simone Thomalla takes a seat on the sofa on GALA on TV and chats with Annika Lau about her new boyfriend Nicolino Hermano and her relationship with her daughter Sophia.

She is one of the first ranks of German TV stars: Simone Thomalla, 57, has been delighting German cinema and television audiences for over 40 years. The ZDF film series “Spring” with the Leipzig native in the role of the village helper Katja Baumann has meanwhile become a popular long-running hit.

Simone Thomalla: Vacation between the beach and sights

The actress also makes headlines privately. After separating from her long-term partner, handball professional Silvio Heinevetter, 38, in September 2021, Thomalla has finally been in seventh heaven again for a few months with Berlin DJ Nicolino Hermano, 45. Most recently, the couple spent a vacation together in Thailand. How she imagined the perfect break and then apparently implemented it, she tells Annika Lau, 43, on GALA on TV: “In the beginning it was just the beach, just staring at the water, doing nothing at all and then I slowly got nervous , because then I’m someone who wants to see something, and I also have the feeling that you have to look at something when you’re somewhere else. We did that too.”

“I am mom”

While Simone was traveling in Southeast Asia, her daughter Sophia Thomalla, 33, was on a completely different continent. At the Australia Open, the presenter cheered on her partner, tennis player Alexander Zverev, 25. Unfortunately in vain: The man from Hamburg was eliminated in the second round of the tournament.

With mom and daughter, things are going well when it comes to love, but the duo does not necessarily exchange intimate details when chatting at the kitchen table: “Little, little. I think you always think Sophia and I are one unit – and there is no one who I love her more than she does – but it’s still the classic mother-daughter relationship. It’s not like I’m best friends. I think if she’s not feeling well then the mother is there and then she would probably come to me, too, but A: is Sophia someone who is very clear and straight with herself, and B: no, we don’t do that. I’m mom.”

Simone Thomalla will give further insights into her relationship with Nicolino Hermano and daughter Sophia on January 28, 2023 from 5:45 p.m. on RTL or RTL +.
