Simple advice from a dermatologist to plump up your lips (without injection): Femme Actuelle Le MAG

You like to take care of your lips by moisturizing them and you can’t do without your lipstick. You also want to make them a little plumper, without going through the injections box. That’s good, solutions exist. We know that the area around the lips and mouth suffers the effects of age. The skin is thin and the loss of elastin and collagen (a natural phenomenon over time) is marked by a reduction in volume and the appearance of fine lines. Furthermore, we don’t all have the same volume naturally in our lips, and while all shapes and sizes are beautiful, some wouldn’t mind a little plumping effect.

For this, all techniques are good. We know in particular the effectiveness of certain tips for obtaining lips with makeup, such as adding cream bronzer to amplify overlining. Kylie Jenner also shared her unstoppable technique on TikTok, using a bit of concealer on the lips to give an effect of depth and dimension. But if it can do the trick for a day, makeup will not have a lasting effect.

If you want to plump up your lips for good, you can, for example, practice certain self-massage gestures or resort to a doctor’s tip, which has gone completely viral on TikTok and involves applying hyaluronic acid on the lips, then cover it with vaseline to keep it in place and boost hydration.

But there is also another technique, shared this time by dermatologist Dr Charles, still on TikTok (@drcharlesmd1). As proof, he reveals photos of himself before and after implementing this routine, and the result is astonishing. But then what is his secret? The latter is really quite simple.

Dr. Charles simply recommends using lip treatments that contain both hyaluronic acid and peptides. The secret to optimal results? Attendance. The doctor specifies that it is necessary “use it three times a day for four weeks to see a significant improvement in the volume and hydration of your lips“. He also takes the opportunity to remind you that your lips must also be protected from the sun and that it is important to apply a lip balm containing SPF when you are exposed. Indeed, as we know, UV rays accelerate aging cutaneous but are also responsible for skin cancers.

Asked in the comments section about the names and brands of products to turn to, he cites as an example the Moisture surge lip hydro-plumping lip treatment from Clinique, the Antioxidant lip repair from the SkinCeuticals brand or even the Lip Booster Hyaluronic Acid + Peptides from Paula’s Choice. But you can also find other references now that you know what ingredients to look for!
