Mariah Carey’s Christmas classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You” topped the singles charts again this week.

US star Mariah Carey (51) remains at the top of the official German single charts with her Christmas classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You” from 1994. In doing so, she relegates the challenger “Last Christmas” (1986) to the former British pop group Wham! (1981-1986) again in second place. As GfK Entertainment also reports, “almost half of the top 100 are made up of Christmas carols”.

ABBA, Adele and Helene Fischer in the top 5 of the album charts

The controversial South Tyrolean quartet Frei.Wild now tops the official German album charts. with “20 years – We create German.Land”. Second place went to the Swedish band ABBA (“Voyage”), third place went to British superstar Adele (“30”, three) and the pregnant Schlager queen Helene Fischer landed on fourth with her “Rausch”. Neil Young & Crazy Horset complete the top 5 with “Barn”.

Of the 18 Christmas albums in the charts, Roland Kaisers (69) “Christmas Time” came in at seventh and Howard Carpendales (75) “Happy Christmas” right behind at eight.
