Actor Anthony Hopkins has been vaccinated against the coronavirus. The 83-year-old shared a video of the special moment.

The British actor Sir Anthony Hopkins (83, "The Silence of the Lambs") was vaccinated against the coronavirus in Los Angeles. He shared a video with his followers on Twitter and Instagram that captured the special moment. "Thank you, CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, and my dear friend, Dr. Maria Teresa Ochoa. Light at the end of the tunnel, after a year of self-imposed quarantine," Hopkins wrote.

In the video, the actor sits in the car with a shield mask and additional mouth and nose protection while the doctor gives him the injection on his right upper arm. At the end of 2020, Hopkins celebrated a special health milestone: on December 29, two days before his 83rd birthday, the British Oscar winner emphasized that he would live 45 years without alcohol.

In a Twitter video he said about his bad addiction to drinking, without which he would have a "great" life today. At the end of the "tough year" 2020, which had been "full of grief and sadness" for many people due to the corona pandemic, he had another message in store for young people. As a dry alcoholic, he himself had had "bad days" and had "a few twists of doubt". But: "Today is the morning that you were so worried about yesterday."
