Sir Michael Caine does not drink alcohol in order to have more time with his grandchildren. He “decided to live a little longer”.

Sir Michael Caine (88) gave up alcohol for his grandchildren. In an interview with “Candis” magazine, the two-time Oscar winner told the story according to “Daily Mail”: “I decided to live a little longer, I stopped drinking and gained a new outlook on life.” He thought he would not have any more grandchildren – “and suddenly I have three”.

His grandchildren are his fountain of youth and have “breathed new life” into him. He is “completely obsessed” with them, as is his wife Shakira Caine (74). After his two Oscar awards in 1987 and 2000 and his accolade in 2000, the actor thought “it couldn’t get better”. “But then I had my grandchildren, that’s better than anything else.” In addition to his legendary Hollywood career, it is his “greatest success” to be a father.

Caine’s grandchildren are the offspring of his daughter Natasha (48), whom he has with Shakira Caine. His older daughter Dominique (65) comes from Caine’s first marriage to Patricia Haines (1932-1977). Even at the age of 88, Caine has not yet given up his career. It was only in 2020 that he was seen in Christopher Nolan’s (50) sci-fi film “Tenet”.
