The shooting of the TVNow event series “Sisi” has started. The new version of the cult classic from the 1950s is being created in the Baltic States.

“The time has come: shooting of our RTL / TV-NOW SISI series starts today in the Baltic States”, The casting agency Franziska Aigner Casting reports on Thursday on Instagram the beginning of the shooting of the eagerly anticipated adaptation of the “Sisi” cult trilogy from the 1950s.

So far it was known that newcomer Dominique Devenport (born 1996) and the award-winning actor Jannik Schümann (29, “Homevideo”) will play the legendary imperial couple Elisabeth and Franz Joseph I of Austria-Hungary. And apparently it will stay that way for the time being with the personal details. Because in the post it goes on: “The other cast is still undercover – more soon!”

Also the Hamburg actor Jannik Schümann is fully motivated on Thursday on Instagram. In his case, the “Baltic States” are even more specifically named: from “Riga, Latvia” he posts a photo of himself in uniform and comments on it with the words: “Let the battles begin …” (Ger. “Let the fighting begin.” … “)

The event series is directed by Sven Bohse (born 1977, “Ku’damm ’56 / ’59”). The broadcast is planned for the end of 2021 on TVNow.
