It's been almost 28 years since Sister Act was born. The comedy, directed by Emile Adolino, was released on November 25, 1992 and immediately met with enormous success. Kathy Najimy also continued her career after taking on the features of Sister Mary Patrick. At 63, her career was full: she is also known for having played Mary Sanderson in Hocus Pocus and was recently seen in Dumplin ’ on Netflix. Maggie Smith, the Mother Superior, marked the world of cinema. The 85-year-old British actress continued her career, including spending several years playing Minerva McGonagall in the Harry Potter saga. Then she got noticed in the series very appreciated by Kate Middleton, Downton abbey (2010 to 2015), interpreting Violet, the Dowager Countess of Grantham. She won two Emmy Awards for this role.

The career of Wendy Makkena, Sister Mary Robert, continued after her stint in comedy. It mainly developed on television: we find it in Ghost Whisperer, Dr House, The Experts, Desperate Housewives or NCIS. Jennifer Love Hewitt played one of the students, Margaret. She was then a teenager. From 2005 to 2010, she was the star of the series Ghost whisperer. Since 2018 she plays Maddie Kendall in the series 9-1-1. Mary Wickes, aka Sister Mary Lazarus, died on October 22, 1995, shortly after the release of Sister Act II. The year before her death, she played Aunt March in The Four Daughters of Doctor March by Gillian Armstrong.
