Situation comes to a head – relief organization: “Never again enough nursing staff!”

Demand will triple by 2050
Because the times when enough nurses were available are finally over for Hinterholzer. In order to avert a (nursing) emergency, for Hinterholzer “measures in training are therefore the core of the urgently needed nursing reform”. In detail, it calls for an increase in the number of apprenticeships in this area, permeable paths into the nursing and care professions, extra-occupational programs for people changing and returning to work, as well as the removal of many bureaucratic hurdles. Because Hinterholzer knows the need that all organizations active in the care sector will face in the coming years: “By 2050 we will need three and a half times as many staff as now.” The relief organization alone currently has 200 vacancies to fill.
