six activities to do with our children!

New Years Eve will likely be spent with the family, due to the government curfew. Here are some ideas for activities to do with your children to have a festive evening despite everything!

It's official, the curfew will not be lifted for New Year's Eve. Jean Castex made the announcement on Thursday, December 10, during a press conference on the evolution of covid-19 in France. The number of cases is still high, the French will be asked, from December 15, to stay at home between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

As a result, any plans you might have had for the New Year collapsed. And unless you have enough energy to stay with your friends until 6 a.m. (be warned, no more than six at tables), you're likely to be spending the last evening of 2020 with your family. After all, this New Year will be like the year we just experienced: confined with our loved ones.

But celebrating New Years Eve with your kids doesn't mean it won't be festive! Quite the contrary, there are plenty of ways to put glitter in their life and yours (at least for this evening). Aufeminin does not let you down and gives you ideas for activities to do with your cherubs on New Years Eve.

  • A photo retrospective of the year: In the days leading up to New Year's Eve, create a slideshow with your children of your best photos taken of 2020. Even if you've spent almost half the year confined, you will find some funny or moving souvenir photos or videos. Then watch this slideshow with your family, on New Year's Eve, for a nice moment with your loved ones.
  • The game of resolutions: each participant writes two to three resolutions, on different pieces of paper. Then mix all the papers in a hat or box and draw one at random. Whoever finds who owns the resolution wins! Of course, adapt yours according to the age of your kids. You can also make a little twist: each participant must write two true resolutions and one false. The others will have to find which one is wrong to win.
  • A Dance Battle: Have your children perform choreographies to prepare them for a Dance Battle to New Year's music. Children can team up with their parents, to mix young and old. Even if you decide not to pick a winner at the end (the important thing is to participate, right?) This Battle will be a lot of fun and most importantly… exhaust them, to guarantee you a nice night behind.
  • A card game… special New Year: before D-Day, make little "question" cards about the past year to bring back the best memories. For example "this year my favorite movie is", or "this year I loved doing", etc. On New Year's Eve, everyone draws a card and must answer the question asked. A nice way to see all the positive things that have happened this year (despite everything). You can also find ready-made cards on the Mômes website.
  • A hat contest: set up a small craft table, on which your children will have to make the most beautiful New Year's hat. You can then decide whether or not to give them a prize, depending on the most beautiful hat.
  • A very special meal: what if for the New Year, you allow your children to eat what they like the most? Organize a buffet with their favorite dishes, candies and cakes, adding sprinkles and decoration to make it magical. On the program: no rules! Something to please your cherubs for an evening. Be careful, however, of the liver attack (eat in moderation, even if it is complicated during the holiday season).

Before New Year's Eve, do not hesitate to do DIYs with your children to make your New Year's decoration yourself. It will be a good way to occupy them, but also to spend quality time with the family. You can make disco balls together to hang on the floor lamp, or even a nice board where you can each write your resolutions for the year.

Finally, never underestimate the power of family board games or a movie night! In fact, we have made a selection of cult and cocooning films to watch with your children if you lack inspiration.

75 films you absolutely must watch with your family!

This year the New Year will be different. But we must take all the necessary measures to avoid the transmission of Covid-19. So let's respect the rule of "six at the table" and above all, protect our elders by avoiding hugs and hugs, even if we know it is difficult.
