Skoda is repositioning itself for the transition to the electric car. The Czech brand recently introduced the Vision 7S concept. Two more electric models will be added by 2026. They should become a strong alternative for the e-cars from VW’s ID series.
Skoda has been a reliable alternative to VW for years. The group brand is now an integral part of German roads, but in contrast to Volkswagen it is slower to switch to electric drive. Now the Czechs are shifting up a gear: By 2026, three new e-cars are to come onto the market.
Skoda: Huge E-SUV has a range of 600 km
This was announced by Skoda during the final presentation of the Vision 7S concept car. Like the electric cars in the ID series, the huge SUV is based on VW’s MEB platform. the 89 kWh battery should ensure a range of up to 600 km according to the WLTP standard (source: Skoda).
However, Skoda is planning a leap in terms of charging capacity: it will 200 kW at peak and would thus be well above the current best value in the VW Group. The ID Buzz should create up to 170 kW under ideal conditions. With the ID Aero concept, which is due to appear in 2023 as ID.7, the ranking could still shift.
In the Vision 7S this has come so far largest touch display of a Skoda with 14.6 inches for use. In order to always be able to display entertainment content and information ideally, the screen can be used vertically in driving mode or horizontally in relaxation mode. BYD is doing a similar thing with the Atto 3, which is coming to Germany soon.

It is not yet clear which features from the Vision 7S will make it into the production model. However, serious changes that turn the concept upside down are not to be expected. The Vision 7S will be accompanied by two other models, which will expand Skoda’s electric car portfolio to six vehicles by 2026: one is planned small cars and a compact SUV – both segments, in which Skoda is based on customer demand. No further details about the two electric cars have been revealed.
Skoda was already able to impress with its first purely electric car, the Enyaq iV and Enyaq Coupe iV. Internally, the Stromer are considered a better alternative to the ID series. It will be exciting to see whether Skoda succeeds in repeating this success with other models.
