Skull & Bones had been announced atE3 2017with Ubisoft Singapore at the helm, before almost completely disappearing from the media. It has been pushed back several times since, so much so that its gameplay probably no longer resembles what was shown: some rumors have it that it was rebooted to take an approach live-service.
The end of the tunnel should be near, because Ubisoft confirmed in its last financial report that it wanted to launch Skull & Bones before March 2023, in the next fiscal year. He is also making his first official appearance for a long time with a post announcing that developers are looking for testers to join the program Insider and try the game first. Anyone can registerwith a view to sharing his feelings with the creators, knowing that a confidentiality agreement will prevent sharing captures of your games.
What is the Insider Program?
The Insider Program is a live testing initiative where we invite carefully selected players to play an early version of our game in real-world conditions before anyone else. This means that for the first time ever, members of our Insider Program will be able to play Skull & Bones and get a taste of the work being done by our development team.
Why do we offer it?
Our main goal is to get real data and feedback. We want to know what our players do when they have the opportunity to play our game when they want and how they want. Above all, we want to know their “feelings” of the game.
To do this, we have set up communication channels reserved for members of the Insider program so that they can share about their experience, discuss with each other and obtain information directly from the development team.
Who is invited?
For now, the group of participants will remain relatively small. It is important for us to ensure that things are done gradually and allow us to fully appreciate the comments that come to us.
Can I be part of it?
Being part of our Insider Program means testing in-development builds of our game where you’ll encounter bugs and issues to help improve the experience for the rest of the community!
It requires a lot of patience and commitment and, above all, strict adherence to a confidentiality agreement and Ubisoft’s code of conduct.
Ideal candidates are Skull & Bones fans who are passionate about game development and have plenty of time to spend testing and reporting issues, bugs, or just general feedback.
Ubisoft take the opportunity to reveal a new visual identity for Skull and Bones. No more old-fashioned typography, make way for a much more modern typeface and a thick brush painting skull logo. The label Ubisoft Original was also affixed. Does this mean that the overall artistic direction has also changed? We’ll find out with the next one trailerwhich should arrive in the coming months.
