Skullcandy unveils Ecobuds, “eco-designed” connected headphones

To reduce their environmental impact, more and more manufacturers are offering reconditioned products, for example, like Apple recently with the iPhone. Skullcandy follows the trend and presents the Ecobuds, headphones that the brand describes as “the most responsible to date”.

The American brand founded in 2003 is aware that battery production is polluting. The charging case for its Ecobuds headphones does not have one, which cuts their carbon footprint in half, Skullcandy says. To recharge, you must therefore connect your smartphone to the box via a USB-C port.

The manufacturer therefore wishes to stand out from the competition, launched in a race for autonomy which has serious consequences for the environment. In addition to a charging case lacking a battery, Skullcandy says its Ecobuds are designed with “components […] more responsible”.

The brand promises that its product does not “compromise on sound quality and performance”. On this point, we will deliver our verdict when we have the Ecobuds in our hands.
