Sky referral program: How to secure unlimited rewards worth up to 100 euros

The live TV service Sky is one of the few providers that has its own premiere program for its customers. This is called Sky Refer a Friend. You recommend a Sky subscription to a friend and receive a reward such as a 90 euro voucher for Media Markt.

Sky’s rewards program is basically very simple. As a referrer, you choose a reward and name a person you would like to refer. The person you refer confirms the process, subscribes to Sky, and in a few weeks the referrer receives the selected reward. Sky Referral Program: The Requirements

Before you refer someone or have someone refer you, you have to follow a few general rules. Compared to other reward programs, however, these are surprisingly generous and allow you to use the program’s benefits as often as you like.

• In principle, all active Sky subscribers can refer other people.
• As a subscriber, you can refer as many customers as you want. You can even refer several people in one day.
• You are only allowed to recruit potential customers who have not been Sky customers in the last three months. Recently terminated subscriptions to the sister service Wow, however, do not play a role.
• In addition, only Sky subscribers can use the friend referral service; Wow customers are not allowed to use this or a comparable service.
• You cannot recruit yourself, but you can recruit family members or friends, for example.
• You can also use the Sky referral service if you have taken out your Sky subscription through a third-party provider such as MagentaTV.
• The bonus is sent to the person who referred the customer with a delay of several weeks. According to Sky, the reason for this is that they want to ensure that the person referred actually activates their subscription and does not cancel it straight away.

You want to recruit another person on Sky

First go to the Sky referral website. Here you select the option “I am already a customer and would like to recommend Sky“, for which you must of course be logged in with your Sky account.

In the next step, you choose one of the numerous and regularly changing rewards. In principle, you can choose any of the rewards displayed. It doesn’t matter which subscription you have or which one the person you refer later takes out.

Now you contact the person you referred. The easiest way to do this is to click on the reward and then send a message directly to the person’s email address. You can also tell the person you referred your customer number and your desired reward so that they can confirm the process.

But beware: You should only consider passing on your customer number if you know the person you have referred well and if they are, for example, a friend or family member.

You want to be referred by another person

If the person who referred you has already sent you an email about this, follow the instructions in it. However, if the option of passing on the customer number and the desired reward was chosen, you must take action yourself.

On the Sky Refer a Friend website, select the following option: “I was referred and would like to order Sky“. You will be redirected to the rewards overview, where you can now select the reward that the person who referred you has informed you of. If you confirm with a click, the “New customer” input field will appear.

Enter the customer number that the person who referred you gave you. Then confirm the booking by clicking on “order here” and you will be redirected to select your subscription. You can also upgrade your subscription directly with additional options. The person who referred you will receive the bonus in any case, even if you choose the cheapest subscription without any extras.

The advantage for the person you refer: Sky automatically adds the highest available discount to the subscriptions. This means you are definitely paying the best price for your subscription. To book your subscription, you then have to go through the usual steps again, just like you would with a regular Sky registration. Once you have done that, the person you refer will receive their bonus in around one to two months.

What rewards does Sky Refer a Friend offer?

The rewards available for Sky referrals change from time to time, so you can get different rewards over the course of the year. Provided you have enough people you can refer who also want to take out a Sky subscription.

Many of the rewards are free when you refer another person. However, for some of them you have to pay a small fee. These include vouchers, credit for certain shops or services, sports rewards or digital content. The rewards are usually worth around 50 to 100 euros. Sometimes a Sky credit is also available as a reward.

If you really want to get a bonus, you shouldn’t wait too long. It may disappear from the Sky promotions program after a while. Of course, you are also free to share the bonus with the person you refer. It is more problematic if you want to share your Sky account with other people.
