A new channel has started with Sky Showcase, which is to bundle the top content of the pay-TV provider – soon including “House of the Dragon”. This is already on the new channel.

  • The new pay TV channel Sky Showcase has been on the air since August 4th.
  • A cross-section of the top content from the Sky program is to be shown there.
  • From August 22, 2022, the “GoT” prequel “House of the Dragon” will also run on Sky Showcase.

The new channel Sky Showcase has started in pay TV – and true to its name, it is intended to present the most important and high-quality Sky content as if on a platter. For this, Sky has also given its new highlight channel the prestigious slot number 100.

The broadcaster Sky Showcase, which had been announced for a long time, received the most attention when the pay-TV provider announced the launch of “House of the Dragon” on the new channel. The prequel series to the HBO hit “Game of Thrones” starts there on August 22, 2022.

At the beginning, Sky Showcase now shows a rather wild mix of second to third series US series such as “Lucifer” and “9-1-1: Lone Star” or show formats such as “Best of Nonsense Comedy Club”. The continuous highlight program looks different – but with the series finale of “Modern Family” there are already more popular formats on Sky Showcase.

If the fictional program or the comedy infusion doesn’t particularly appeal to you, you can also get a taste of Sky Nature’s “Patagonia” documentary series in prime time on the first day of the broadcast (August 4th) at 8:15 p.m.
