Microsoft’s services are affected by a disruption and the video chat program Skype is one of them. Many users are currently reporting problems with the application.
Update, 12:28 p.m.: You should be able to use Skype again without any problems because Microsoft’s problem has been fixed. A network failure caused numerous applications to fail worldwide. The Microsoft team is now monitoring the bug fix.

The video chat service Skype is affected by a disruption. This emerges from the reports of various readers who reach us on our fault indicator. Accordingly, both the login and the sending and receiving of messages are currently only possible to a limited extent or not at all.
The reports reach us from all over Germany. However, the metropolitan areas of Frankfurt am Main, Berlin and Cologne were hit particularly hard. Skype is far from the only Microsoft program currently affected by a disruption.
It appears to be a widespread disruption to Office services, with issues also appearing on Office, Teams, Outlook and even Xbox Live.
Apparently, not only users in Germany are affected, but worldwide. This emerges from various messages in the social media and especially on Twitter. It is not yet clear when the disruptions will be resolved. We’ll keep you posted here as soon as there’s anything new to report.
